Review of The Endless (2017) by George C — 21 Oct 2018
The hype about this movie must be a joke, right?!? This movie is awful. The script is incredibly lame. The dialogue is laughably unrealistic, the actors have no charisma, and the directing is basically workmanlike. To make matters worse, the movie isn't scary or tense. It just muddles from 20-something conversation to another. AND this movie might like beer more than Brett Kavanaugh (and that's saying something).
Here are some example of atrocious dialogue:
WOMAN: "Don't you remember from when you were a kid".
MAN WHO ESCAPED AT 14(!): "Kids memories are weird".
HIPSTER: "It's cool that everyone here has a little thing.".
OTHER HIPSTER: "Yeah, some people have two or three".
Not to mention the movie raises the idea of 1,000,000 hours to become an expert at anything. This is likely based on the Malcom Gladwell idea of 10,000 hours, which has been largely debunked, but even so, why did they raise it to a factor of 100?
Sloopy, lame, overlong... bottom line: unentertaining.
