The Expendables is supposed to be about, well The Expendables, a team of mercenaries. Yet 2/3 of the movie run time are Barney Ross(Sylvester Stallone) and Lee Christmas (Jason Statham).

As expected there is no story and plot is virtually nonexistent like most mid-summer action movies, but most mid-summer action movies make up for it with decent action scenes. I do admit The Expendables had some of those but most were shot so poorly and hard to follow. It goes downhill from the opening scene which is somehow unrelated with the rest of the movie. It's cringe worthy attempt to include emotional elements makes The Expendable look even more of a blatant mess than I expected it to be. A sloppy sense of direction doesn't help either. That being said The Expendables is a more than usually uninspired downhill ride of an action movie.
