Review of The Expendables (2010) by Steve W — 12 Nov 2013
If you don't like the action genre, you won't get this film at all. If you complain that it has a stream lined plot, cliché characters, is overly violent and politically incorrect it is as dumb as criticising 'Oliver!' for having too much singing and dancing.
Expendables is like a regular 1980's action movie, the kind Cannon films or Carolco would churn out only the entire cast is filled with recognisable names of the genre. Each actor bringing his baggage of famous characters only real action fans will get.
For 80's fans this is our Avengers and our heroes don't need spandex suits or super powers, just steroids, one-liners and machine guns.
