Review of The Front Runner (2018) by David O — 21 Jan 2019
The Front Runner has an interesting concept and while it dips into some good drama and story points, none of them are truley developed. The film makers seem to be torn on what type of story they want to tell, whether it be a character piece like Darkest Hour or a film about the dramas of journalism like The Post.
We get good performances and a big pool of characters who all get their moments, but Jackman just doesn't seem to lead the film as the title may suggest.
