Review of The Fundamentals of Caring (2016) by Moviespud — 03 Jul 2020
Yes, it's a well-worn premise - very well-worn - but that, by no means, makes this a bad movie. Paul Rudd is, as almost always, charismatic and very watchable, and Craig Roberts and Selena Gomez do really well too.
The Fundamentals of Caring, while not surprising, is funny and likeable, with likeable characters you just want to spend time with. Also, while it does occasionally go for a pluck at the heartstrings, it manages never to be mawkish, always undercutting with humour before it gets sickly, which, to my mind, is a big positive.
