Since I never saw any other film of the franchise, I really enjoyed trust movie. The intrigue is not too complicated and serve its purpose as a support for the underlying story of evolution, rebirth and Cain and Adam eternal conflict. Visually perfect with directing that doesn't show off but serves the acting and the sleek feeling. Casting is almost perfect and the acting is amazing. Claire Foy is a rare talent.
I definitely recommend it especially as a stand alone him.
