If you thought Swiss Army Man was bizarre... Wait til you get a load of this. What plays out like a feature length Tim and Eric sketch, The Greasy Strangler is essentially a love triangle between a woman, a man and his father who moonlights as a serial killer who lathers himself up with grease every time he murders someone.

.. And you thought farting corpses were weird? The Greasy Strangler is a masterclass in minimalist storytelling, surrealism and obscenery. Part John Waters, part Eric Andre and part Álex de la Iglesia; The Greasy Strangler is without a doubt one of the, if not THE, most disgusting film i've ever seen.

Absurdist dialogue and one liners run rampant throughout that feel tailor made to be endlessly quotable while the prosthetic and costume department that were assembled must be given a shout out for how off the wall the film is presented.

Unfortunately, the joke gets old half way through the runtime and doesn't grate per say for me personally, it just gets a bit too much. While there was a method behind the madness of Swiss Army Man; The Greasy Strangler is purely weird for the sake of being weird which ultimately makes viewing a much more shallow experience.

If you want to be completely repelled for 93 minutes - this is the film for you! Produced by Elijah Wood to boot!
