Review of The Great Gatsby (2013) by Ninon M — 23 Jul 2017
Sadly, this is just another unhappy trial to recreate the essence of Fitzgerald's novel. Apart from its glitters, Baz Luhrmann's 'The Great Gatsby' is rather empty and overlong (or misusing its running time), with endless scenes which, after a while, when their visual delight fades, become exhausting.
Even DiCaprio remains on Gatsby's surface, and the other actors do no better, sailing just past the spirit that would have make the film a success.
