Review of The Great Wall (2016) by Tom B — 12 Dec 2018
Awfully unimaginative as expected. Banking off Matt Damon's name, THE GREAT WALL makes a mountain our of a molehill, by taking a ten-minute LOTR-like scenario and stretching it out into a 103-minute nineties movie with modern conventional CGI monsters.
Littered battle sequences keep the film from falling completely apart; nonetheless, GREAT WALL'S Chinese monster foundation is way too banal to warrant the crazy amount of theatrical attention it received.
