Review of The Greatest Showman (2017) by Tim H — 26 Feb 2018
I'm adding my 1st review to any movie I've ever seen for one major reason. The "professional" critics collectively have lost their minds and are too tainted by their political correctness to rate this movie for what it really is: One of the best movies I have ever experienced! My wife and I both loved it so much that we have seen it 6 times together and loved it each time! The story has a couple of love stories in it, there is conflict between the rich class and the not so rich class, there is a subplot that it is OK to be different and celebrate those differences, an so much more.
The music is off-the-charts great and you'll find yourself wanting to hear it over and over again and even sing the tunes in your head. My two favorites are: 'Never Enough' and 'This Is Me." Thee 'Never Enough' scene is one of the best scenes I've seen in movies in a long time. Besides being a powerfully delivered song, the scenes contains several emotional moments and when the song ends you will catch yourself say "Wow!" - it is that good. 'This Is Me' - follows with a great message of inclusion (Side bar: Go on Youtube and watch The Greatest Showman behind the scenes videos, especially: This is Me and From Now On.... if you're not a professional critic and you can fog up a mirror when it is placed under your nose, then you just might be moved to tears.
My wife & I will probably see this several more times. It is one you want to see on the big screen so don't just wait for the DVD.
