Review of The Green Knight (2021) by Olivierpiel — 22 Aug 2021
Beautiful at times -some of the camera work is not just used to impress but really embodies Gawain's incredulous whirlwind of an adventure-, gratuitous at other (the thief scene for instance), it is a refreshing take on an old tale and a riveting experience nonetheless.
Some critics are disappointed by the shallow nature of the script or contest the interpretation made by the director. They ought to remember this is just a simple legend, brought to us like that puppet show in the film to brighten our sad existence.
Nothing more or less. It's not Dostoyevsky or Tarkovsky. It's just our favourite Brythonnic legend. Kenavo.
