Review of The Guest (2014) by Mitchell H — 23 Nov 2014
Initially, the trailer did not make me want to watch this at all, but I'm glad I did! The following is a brief unfiltered bit of thoughts that might vaguely explain what I thought of it.
Overall: Super fun flick, and in some ways reminiscent of Drive (I use this hesitantly, style maybe?), sort of like an easier to swallow version... It's slick, generally fast-paced, and entertaining. There's notable humour as well, a constant air of it, which is great. The soundtrack also really adds. It's nothing truly innovative, it's familiar and different all at once, but maybe that's why it's so fun! I really just recommend this for a fun and enjoyable movie night.
