Chock full of Park's signature violence, dark humor, and erotic imagery, "The Handmaiden" brings a surprising amount of heart and sweetness to a movie about betrayal, fear, and perversion.
Visual indulgences may extend the runtime longer than the story requires, but Chan-Wook Park's latest is certainly his best and a must see for fans of the Korean auteur.
