Review of The Harder They Come (1972) by Ben W — 03 Mar 2010
Cant say that I enjoyed this. I can see how many do, but much of jamaican culture is lost on me. I understand the ideas of revolution and oppression but the music and rhetoric doesnt seem to hold much power over me.
this is a film specifically from that culture: not much story to speak of, the camerawork is mediocre. there just isnt much to grab hold of here unless you love reggae. which I dont.
