Review of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies (2014) by Ethan H — 08 May 2015
Though mostly nothing from this movie was originally in the book, the movie succeeds in making the audience believe that this was the plan all along. From the opening scene which picks up with Smaug destroying Lake-Town to every scene after that the movie rarely slows down.
There seems to be more humour this time around too with the inclusion of bit-part characters getting their fair share of screen time. The CGI never seems underdone and the definition of the picture is top-notch.
The movie is a fine last installment in a franchise that has now officially ended. It really is too bad that Jackson made the original movies in only three single parts otherwise myself and alot of other fans would have loved another 6 parts in the franchise.
