Review of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (2013) by Scotty C — 04 Jan 2015
It's probably overlong by twenty or so minutes (those Sauron's back? asides get a little wearing), with a barrel chase sequence that is equal parts rousing and ridiculous, but overall it is one rollicking good time.
Smaug ends up stealing the show with a size and voice that astounds and terrifies. His and Bilbo's back and forth is a movie unto itself.
