Review of The House with a Clock in Its Walls (2018) by Kevin B — 21 Sep 2018
I was able to read the entire book right before going last night. It was so fun to see how many details they kept, especially in the first half. The second half deviates rather significantly in terms of plot but in my opinion the spirit of the books and characters was never compromised ONCE.
I think because it is a movie in 2018, the changes they made helped convey the spirit of the story much more effectively and kept the viewers engaged far more consistently than a verbatim rendition of the book.
I'm telling you that book came to life! ?? Jack Black and Cate Blanchett outdid themselves. Hope you all enjoy it as much as I did! Definitely going again.
