Review of The House with a Clock in Its Walls (2018) by Sam K — 29 Sep 2018
A fine throwback to another time in filmmaking. It's entertaining, magical and funny. It's not part 19 of an oversaturated series and is not a retelling of something told 14 times before. Jack Black is superb as a warlock, but sadly (or thankfully depending on your viewpoint), the movie is more about his nephew than him.
It's certainly not the best movie I've ever seen and it could have been better, but, there's really nothing wrong with it and a fine job was done by all.
