Review of The Hunting Ground (2015) by Narrative M — 29 Aug 2018
Watch this if: You're fired up by documentaries about injustice, and by the voices of sexual assault survivors.
The Hunting Ground is an intense exposé of sexual assault on college campuses and the all-too-often lackluster response from administrators. It's enraging and filled with horrifying statistics. It's received criticism for its un-journalistic approach to the issue, but there's no denying its emotional leverage: first-hand accounts of assault, the disturbing lack of accountability that followed, presented by the survivors themselves. That's what we appreciated most about this documentary: it gives voice to the voiceless. You can bet we're listening.
