Review of The Interview (2014) by Chad D — 08 Aug 2015
Against my better judgment, I gave The Interview a watch. Mainly I wanted to see how well Rogen and Company were able to skewer Kim Jong-un. Not well by the way.
A Producer and star of a nighttime celebrity news television show decide to try to get an interview with the leader of North Korea to make people take them seriously. Also Un is a huge fan of the show, so they have an in. Once their interview is accepted, the CIA approaches the two and involve them in a plot to assassinate Un.
Bill Hicks had a stand-up piece about Basic Instinct. His official review, "Piece of shit. Don't worry about the controversy, don't let them suck you in. Just take a step back and look at it again.... Ohhhh.... It's a piece of shit." I think that same stance should be taken here. Ignore the controversy and the talking points and you'll see that this is just another mindless, toilet humor infested "piece of shit.".
