Its plot is fairly generic and some of its secondary characters could have been a bit more polished, but "The Judge" still soars as a decent effort as it benefits from particularly committed performances by Robert Downey Jr.
and Robert Duvall and Thomas Newman's score to offer a heartbreaking and sometimes funny film about family dramas.
