Review of The Killer Inside Me (2010) by Daniel P — 30 Nov 2010
Uggg. What a bad movie. The script felt like it was written by a [not very talented] films school student. There were no surprises, no character revelations or development, and the attempt to create depth through flashbacks to Affleck's childhood felt very forced and contrived.
Affleck does a good job of creating a mild mannered character with a subdued Texas drawl, but then he stays at that exact emotional level the whole time. The only change is that sometimes his character sweats, but there's no change to his emotion.
Is that what they were going for? Maybe. But it isn't interesting to watch. The cinematography was pretty good, but that's all the movie had going for it. I'm extremely disappointed, as the film had so much promise but didn't even begin to live up to its potential.
