Review of The King of Comedy (1982) by Lee M — 09 Jan 2008
In turns excruciatingly painful yet utterly mesmerising to watch, you become transfixed to the point of becoming almost as obcessed as Rupert Pupkin himself. shocking, dark , and extremely funny, this by far one of the most uncomfortable viewings you will sit through, but it is because of that, that its supremely orignal in its way of thinking, to show two seperate stories, that of a man who is ultimately useless and devoid of talent , and the tv personality who is jaded by mundane encounters from the general public.
sharp, satrical, intellergent and embarassing, ahead of its time. and now more promident in the age of reality tv and the general public seeking fame through television.
