Review of The Kingdom (1973) by Tero H — 30 Dec 2012
Actors and plot make this movie a well-made action thriller, although I found the movie rather violent. Of course, this was natural in a movie concerned with terrorism. The action scenes are well directed and the watcher feels as if he's in the middle of it.
Attempting to show a realistic image of the conflict its trying to show its viewers, the movie may make mistakes but how should I know what is realistic and what is not, since I know nothing about the subject?
Jennifer Garner and Jamie Foxx seem to take up a lot of the screen. A thought-provoking film about how violence breeds even more violence. If this movie is a realistic description of the middle-east, then its really not a safe place to visit as a westerner.
I didn't like watch children getting shot, even though its probably all very real there, but even so, I dislike violence directed at children in the movies.
Again, if you can take all the blood&guts and like guns, bullets and adrenaline, you'll probably like this movie too. Like I wrote, it is violent but thought provoking.
