Review of The Last Sharknado: It's About Time (2018) by Tyler E — 24 Aug 2018
Taken for what it is which is the Sharknado franchise, obviously this 5 star rating is not equal to a 5 star rating given to The Winter Soldier for example because they both need to be taken for what they are.
The primary objective of entertainment is to entertain and be enjoyable and to me this film did absolutely that. While not as ridiculous in many ways as some other installments in the franchise, it was a very fun and enjoyable adventure, especially if you have followed the franchise so far.
It was a great fan service to the entire series bringing back characters, stories and locations that tied it together in a great and wacky way. As mentioned, the film was certainly not as corny as other installments like The 4th Awakens and actually made a decent film that wasn't only fun because it is laugh-out-loud ridiculous.
Again, especially if you are a fan of the series you owe it to yourself to watch the final chapter that really had a very nice conclusion honestly and was very pleased with it. I've had a large party at my house every year since the original and its actually sad to reach this end of an era with friends and family.
As a franchise are they actually good, well written and acted films? Of course not. Are some films better than others? Very much. But between Global Swarming and now It's About Time these last 2 have been really a great time for a group of people who just want to kick back and not take life so seriously for a night.
Very very pleased with it's conclusion and long live Sharknado!
