Review of The Magnificent Seven (2016) by At9 — 17 Mar 2019
I liked it. It was a movie with a message that race doesn't matter that came off more like that race doesn't matter in the face of evil. Well, they messed that up, but since it's in the film and leads to some hilarious scenes, I am okay with it.
In my eyes, they fixed their own own mistake on presenting their political message with humour. Now onto the actual film: some actors had more time to shine which was a shame because the cast all did great.
Because it's an action movie, maybe that doesn't even matter. Why develop characters when they are fodder? That's a very Wild West view. Imagery pulled me in and the tactics were pretty authentic to my knowledge to the expense of maybe getting draggy because of the attention to detail.
I LOVED THAT! This movie wasn't a politically neutral film, but it was a blast of an adventure with a great battle scene. I'd recommend this film.
