Review of The Man with the Golden Gun (1974) by Jack O — 08 Sep 2018

So with The Man with the Golden Gun, this came out after Live and Let Die and it came with mixed to negative reviews. To me though, I actually enjoyed it and I enjoyed the action but the comedy humour is a bit much with the sheriff from Live and Let Die which I haven't seen.

Kind of a mix bag film for everybody except the villains. The one you call Scaramanga, Francisco Scaramanga played by Christopher Lee. He's the man with the golden gun and he has a third nipple. At first I found it to be creepy but whatever.

He's good in this. And a dwarf named Nick Nack, he's Scaramanga's manservant and accomplice. The bond girls who I like are impressive and weak. First I'm going to start off with Goodnight which for some reason is been called.

Since when did Bond know her? Why? Well, for some reason I don't know. The movie doesn't explain it. Oh, I've got it. It's because her last name is Goodnight and the first is Mary. Haha.

Why didn't I think of this before? Anyways, Mary Goodnight is an Bond's assistant who loves James Bond. Now I don't mind but to me she's a weakest bond girl. Now with Andrea Anders played by Maud Adams.

She's Scaramanga's mistress and then change sides with James Bond and tell him that she wanted Scaramanga dead. She's an impressive bond girl. There ain't any gadgets in this film at all so it's kinda lacking for people but they'll get to see them next time in The Spy Who Loved Me which I reviewed years ago.

So for me, I enjoyed The Man with the Golden Gun despite it's silliest goofy humour, it's still has a memorable villain from Christopher Lee and some action scenes. It's a mix bag for most people but me and they will avoid the bads and look at the goods.
