Review of The Meg (2018) by Andrew R — 13 Aug 2018
The Meg is essentially a modern day Jaws. It can be a bit silly and predictable at times, but it also fully recognizes that and plays off that rather well, without diving too much into the deep end (see what I did there?) of cheesiness.
I'm glad it didn't go the full comedic route because if I wanted a cheesy shark film, I'd watch one of the bajillion Sharknados.
