Review of The Meg (2018) by Brian S — 18 Nov 2018
It's a mix of a nostalgic throwback to 1950s sci-fi creature shlock, but with big budget CGI effects. And for the most part, it works. In very silly terms, it's an entertaining flick, with a memorable lead performance from Jason Statham, and the movie has a fun sense of humor to it too.
Although I can't help but think that it could've been better with a little more gore and horror elements, which would be appropriate for the plot. But in terms of recent shark movies, this is one of the better ones I've seen for sure, and it may not be the perfect summer blockbuster, it does have its flaws, but it's a descent cheesy flick and is definitely worth a look!!
