Review of The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected) (2017) by Andrew B — 20 Jan 2018
It sort of feels like it was written as a play, with just a few very long very dialogue scenes making up the entire film. in this style, Baumbach finds yet another new way to tell yet another new type of story about the convergence of class, age, and family in America.
It's less personally resonant with me than some of his other films due to the difference in my privileges and the characters he's examining here, but it's still an interesting look into the lives of people who's only real problems are their own neurosis'.
.. oh and mortality but that's a much more boring inconvenience.
