Review of The Mummy Returns (2001) by Jak-Luke S — 23 Jul 2017
The Mummy Returns is a little too big for its boots and at times bites off way more than it can chew. When the film is restraint and focus on character, it's by far in its strongest element but the the scale just isn't backed well with CGI that looks nothing short of terrible.
Performances are good from all the cast, especially from Boath whom the filmmakers put a lot of faith back in. My main issue is the addition of Imhotep once again, it felt forced and a little redundant to being the same villain back.
