Review of The Night Listener (2006) by Martin J — 15 Oct 2007
Robin Williams is definately not only a comedian, and with One Hour Photo and The Night Listener he proves that fact. This is not a super-suspense thriller...it's a slow moving, mood building story with Williams as a dj on the night-time radio.
He is contacted by Toni Collette who tells him about her son. As the story goes along things don't add up, and Williams goes on a trip to investigate. The ending is a disappointment for many people that I have spoken to about this movie (the same with the ending in One Hour Photo), so if you don't like ambigous endings then drop this movie.
