Review of The Ninth Configuration (1980) by Private U — 04 Mar 2008
Yes, the guy who wrote "The Exorcist" also was a director (see "Exorcist III"...really.). Combined with an adapted screenplay of his book, "Twinkle Twinkle Killer Kane", he made this film.
It languished and died after a belated and hushed release. Yet...it's marvelous. Such quotable dialogue, such a wonderful, humane story. Yet it disturbs and raises essential questions about life, from both a philosophical and religious point of view.
