Review of The Outlaw Josey Wales (1976) by Todd M — 14 Jul 2018
I've started to watch this about five times and the first hour each time is utterly incomprehensible. His wife and lad die in a fire, or his wife is raped and murdered, or also taken away, or also a corpse. Then he joins up with not a posse but for some reason that relates to a plot, then the guy is usurped by the Union and tries to kill him. And then some other guy is killed but is sent on a horse as a corpse and then an Indian is suprised by Outlaw Josey Wales. And then another couple hours of such inexplicable nonsense. Maybe Outlaw Josey Wales next meets an alien who he'll take revenge upon the killers of his family (who were those again), the killers being from Ganymede 1A. Or whatever. This movie might get better but the first hour is 100% boring nonsensical horseshit.
And I saw this as a big Eastwood fan, including his Westerns and even Dirty Harry. This movie? I feel valid at adding this review as one of maybe millions who just turned the channel, looking for something more sane.
