Review of The Outsider (2018) by Gene T — 05 Aug 2018
If Leto's inclusion in the film was intended to create a window for western audiences into a mostly unknown and misunderstood culture, it missed the mark utterly as Leto's portrayal feels more alien than anything else in the film.
Truth be told the only characters in the movie that feel anywhere near relatable are Kyoshi and his sister. Add to that a pacing so slow it borders on unwatchable and you end up with a rather bland and forgettable piece of cinema.
