Review of The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012) by Laura M — 21 Oct 2018
I was super hyped to see this, because my friends loved the book, but holy hell. There were some funny or emotional part but all together, it's a mess. The plot is super unclear which makes the final bug reveal confusing and generally weightless. All of the characters adhere to some lazy stereotype and never really break from this. It feels as though scenes are added in Willy-nilly and then the implications or cause are never explored. There is no set time phrase or explicit showing of the effects of the characters actions so it feels as if every problem is fixed almost immediately.
T.L.D.R: Super disappointed in almost every aspect of the movie, wouldn't recommend at all!
