It's much better written than the remake, and on it's own it's one of the most proficient scripts ever written. Although, admittedly, I'd have to rewatch it because I wasn't paying it much attention, but from what I gathered, the writing is masterful.
The performances are incredible, and the chemistry between the leads is delicious. One of the best romantic comedies ever made.
