Review of The Piano (1993) by Connor G — 01 Jul 2014
When judging a movie, I normally think about whether or not there was something I wasn't particularly fond of, a detracting feature. I racked my mind all throughout, and I couldn't come up with a single thing.
Very few movies I'm willing to say are perfect, even amongst my absolute favorites. This is one of them. Holly Hunter gave one of the most powerful performances I've ever seen, and she was supported amazingly by Keitel, Paquin, and Neill.
It was marvelously written, especially how the music was woven in, and there was not one real detracting aspect.
