Review of The Predator (2018) by Anthony E — 19 Jan 2019
- I thought it may have gone overboard with the humour at points. Causing the audience to lose the seriousness of the movie. And making it feel more like a "Scary Movie" satire joke.
-I could not stand the main character for the life of me (Boyd Holbrook) absolutely awful!
-Why did you make such a lame ending , now turning this into a generic "Ironman" Marvel story?!?! Thanks for ruining a franchise sequel before its been created.
-Holbrooks lines were excessively corny and cliche at points.
-I criticize it for lacking in the traditions of the 1st "Predator" and becoming something completely different now.
-Too many dumb decisions made. Like jumping onto an alien aircraft thats taking off, some far fetched scenes , like why does the hybrid keep tossing the main character around rather than killing him?!? He gets shot all movie but does not die. Gets shot in final scene and dies haha. Why does the Predator want to save mankind?! Makes no sense. Thats stupid.
As much as I have criticized it. Its still a watchable movie for a boring day, although by the end the movie just feels silly from all the raunchy comedy that is constant. Climax action is not overly memorable or special. Not interested in the sequel though from the ending I have witnessed. The Army can turn people into "predator's" now ?!?! Just such a horrible ending I have docked a star.
