Review of The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes (1970) by David S — 14 Jan 2010
Would you be willing to know Sherlock Holmes's dark side? Or, better said... would you care to meet a less aristocratic, but more human and more fun Holmes?
If you ever wondered, you now have the opportunity to find out who Sherlock Holmes really is, which is his past, what are his relationships with Watson, how he works and what he does when he has nothing to do ... also, you will know Sherlock's brother, Mycroft, and Ilse Hoffmansthal, a German spy whose true intentions Sherlock fails to figure out but who ends up as his romantic interest (surprisingly?), all packed with a logical explanation for the Loch Ness monster's apparitions.
Of course, seems to make fun as much as make a tribute, but what does it matter as long as it does it well?
