Review of The Quatermass Experiment (2005) by Kat S — 28 Nov 2008
Surprisingly good. This was a live broadcast, and the limitations placed upon the production by this actually worked in its favour. It was well acted, and the lack of special effects highlighted just how good the original script was.
It was genuinely tense in places. My one criticism would be the occasional incongruous modernisations in the script, particularly references to terrorism and extremist states in place of the good old communists.
Otherwise this was great television. From now on, everything should be live.
