Review of The Quick and the Dead (1995) by Stuart K — 01 Sep 2012
The distilled essence of the gun-slinger movie, with no distractions. Hackman is so evil that it's shocking to find him sympathetic, and Stone shows seething turmoil in her minimalist delivery. Young DiCaprio shows remarkable range, making you laugh at his swaggering braggadocio, then cry at his tragic vulnerability.
