Oh sad pathetic preachy movie about how white guys represent their respective nations and then of course Vietnam is played by their mistress, the completely empty-of-a-history-motivation-any-character-interest-at-all mistress, the former taxi-dancer girl.
Greene may have wrote this in the '50s, but this movie was made in 2002 and has no excuse for these limitations.
Note how rarely the Vietnamese is subtitled (though I'm surprised I understood any of it at all compared to how the French is *always* subtitled. Guess they don't have anything important to say.
