Review of The Reflecting Skin (1990) by Scott R — 20 Feb 2013
The tragedy of innocence compunded by the child being raised in a messed up poverty stricken community leaves us with a twisted and disturbing tale. However, the many things that shocked me were later things that I laughed at when the build up ultimately let me down when there was no redemption and only suffering.
This film had a good idea to show the power of adults over children and how it can go wrong, but it certainly could have gone about it in a more productive way, and without the symbolism.
