Review of The Remains of the Day (1993) by Valentín H — 04 Dec 2017
A plot narrated with exquisite taste and lucidity. One of the best films that I have been able to contemplate in my life, at the height of classic cinema.
Huge script adaptation of the novel by Kazu Ishiguro.
A torrent of poetry and naivety that emanates from the portentous performances by Anthony Hopkins and Emma Thompson. With a beautiful photography, a near perfect artistic direction, and a soundtrack deeply beautiful.
When I think of this film, I remember old books, cigars, France, buttons, sweaters and a delicious romantic love customs that unfortunately no longer exists. Try to see it and discover what the songs of the heart await.
