Review of The Road to Hong Kong (1962) by Brian S — 11 Oct 2010
A nice revamp and closing chapter to the classic series, but it still has nothing on the early films. Joan Collins is a rather boring leading lady compared to Dorothy Lamour, and the aging Hope and Crosby just don't have their spry, youthful zing anymore.
still, the Bond-esque plot was an interesting spin and some of the writing was truly hilarious. the cameos in this film also superceded the ones from Bali--especially the always-entertaining Peter Sellers.
some very amusing light entertainment.
