Review of The Romantics (2010) by Brian S — 06 Apr 2012
I found there to be a lot to like in "The Romantics." This ensemble drama features a great cast (Katie Holmes, Josh Duhamel, Anna Paquin, Adam Brody, Malin Akerman, Jeremy Strong, Rebecca Lawernce, Diana Agron, Candice Bergen) who convey a great chemistry.
The scenes where they are all together are quite remarkable. Rarely have I seen such effortless camaraderie in a cast this large. The writing is snappy, realistic, and emotional. I also have a thing for movies that take place during one day, and this one uses that format in interesting ways.
"The Romantics" is breezy and involving and easy to get lost in. For me, I really enjoyed this movie about love and friendship and how cockeyed life can truly be.
