Review of The Seagull (2018) by Holly W — 21 May 2018
I cannot imagine the scores given by both on this total snooze fest. The cast is first rate for sure, Annette Benning, Saoirse Ronan, Brian Dennehy and Corey Stoll. The film is based loosely on the play by the depressed Russian playwright Aton Checov and for some reason the first 15 minutes of the film are repeated, exactly frame later in the film for zero dramatic effect.
Don't waste your time or money, even if you have Movie Pass. Spoiler alert: there is a seagull shot in the film which aptly sums up this film as a dead duck.
