Review of The Seven Year Itch (1955) by John T — 16 Dec 2008
A hilarious classic. This movie is the source of the famous image of Marilyn Monroe getting her skirt blown up by an air vent. Monroe is great in her part, but Tom Ewell's neuroses, sleazy scheming, paranoia, insecurity, and fantasies really make the movie.
It made me laugh out loud more than most comedies today can, and, being from the 1950s, it has to be much more subtle than most comedies today. A definite must-see.
