Review of The Shawshank Redemption (1994) by Ethan C — 08 Oct 2018
Yes, it may be overrated, but The Shawshank Redemption is without a doubt a terrific movie. It has a tremendously well planned out plot following Andy Dufresne (Tim Robbins) who is wrongly accused of murdering his wife and thus serves two life sentences.
In prison, he becomes friends with Red (Morgan Freeman). Their friendship is very well developed throughout the film's plot which spans numerous decades and the end result is a deeply uplifting ending.
Although it may be overrated being considered THE BEST movie of all time by IMDb voters, that does by no means make it a bad film, on the contrary it is a great film and worthy of classic status.
